When words are hard to find, I’m here to help shape them with care. I create gentle, dignified ceremonies that honour a life honestly - with warmth, compassion, and truth.
I’ll work with you (and/or your funeral director) to ensure every element reflects your loved one’s spirit and story - from music and readings to the heart of the tribute.

Firstly, congratulations! Love, in EVERY form, is something worth taking a minute to celebrate. Now, let’s get into the deets - after all, that’s why you’re here, right?
What even is a Celebrant?
Good question! A celebrant creates and leads personalised ceremonies for life’s big moments - especially weddings. For weddings, they get to know the couple, tell their story, weave in the people and things they love, and create a ceremony that feels completely, unmistakably them. Basically: less “tick-box ceremony”, more heart, story and personality.
This means the day can be totally bespoke to YOU. If you want someone who sticks within the lines, keeps you on their path and doesn’t let you waver - then I’m not the gal for you. But if you need someone who says ‘OH Heck yes! I’ll figure out how to make that happen’ instead of ‘Mmmm… that’s not really how it’s done’ - then maybe I’m your gal.
Want a wedding in the windy fells? Absolutely. Want your mums to do a section of your ‘love story’ so they’re involved in your ceremony just as much as me? Oh YES! Do you want your dog to skip down the aisle with your rings tied to their collar? YES YES YES! There is complete freedom over the schedule, the timings and the content - I don’t book more than one wedding a day so I am totally at your disposal.

‘The Legal Bit’
Currently, a Celebrant in England cannot perform the ‘legal’ bit of the ceremony - this can be staged as part of your ceremony, but will not be lawful. The legal part of the wedding, which includes declamatory words, contracting words, and the signing of the marriage register, must take place at a registry office in the presence of two witnesses before or after the ceremony. There have been whispers of the legislation potentially changing in future years, and if that’s the case, I will do what I need to do to be able to offer the legal bit - but as it stands, this needs to be done separately.
What’s included and what to expect:
· An initial phone call to figure out if I’m the right celebrant for you!
· As soon as you say we’re good to go, I will pop over the booking forms, T&Cs, and your first invoice - this is required to secure your date.
· This is then followed up with your ‘Love Story Questionnaire’ - this helps me build a 4D understanding of the two of you - both as individuals and as a couple.
· Once I’ve had that, I then get to writing! This is where we have the chance to meet up and run through everything (this can be done at your venue if it’s within a 25-mile radius of Chopwell). Your fully personalised ceremony is written around you, your story and the things that matter to you. We can weave in readings, poems, religious or non-religious elements, and any meaningful rituals or traditions you’d like to include (e.g handtying, ring blessings, etc). And we’ll keep shaping it together until it feels completely, unmistakably you.
· During this process, we will likely have a few reviews and revisions
· An in-person visit to your venue can also be arranged at this time (preferably with the two of you there so we can natter about your vision!). This is free if you’re within a 25-mile radius - 50p/per mile will be added for anything outside of this radius.
· Unlimited contact via email, phone, or Zoom
· Additional consultation on schedules, music, photography and the ceremony layout.
· Printing - vows and readings, if required
· I then turn up on the day and bring your vision to life!
Prices: From £750 for 2026 and 2027 ceremonies, £800 for 2028
Additional costs may include:
Travel outside a 25-mile radius of Chopwell. Additional miles charged at 50p per mile
Rehearsal at venue (separate to your venue walk-around as listed above) from £50 (plus travel costs if over 25 miles)
Themed outfits if required - charged at cost
Any props outside of my existing kit - charged at cost
If your venue is further than 2.5 hours from Chopwell, accommodation will be charged on top (including evening meal and breakfast) - this usually works out to an extra £140 depending on location.
International weddings - Please enquire about cost.
Any additional costs will be discussed and agreed upon in writing and either invoiced separately or added to your final balance.
If you wish to proceed, a 50% non-refundable booking fee is payable to secure the date/booking. The balance will be due approximately 30 days before your wedding date. I will provide the final version of your ceremony BEFORE the final balance is due, allowing you to have peace of mind in the lead up to your big day.
Sometimes, the best thing you can have on your wedding day is someone who quietly has all the little things under control. Alongside your ceremony, I can stay with you throughout the day as your Master of Ceremonies and extra pair of hands - keeping things moving, liaising with your suppliers and making sure you can concentrate on the important bit: actually enjoying your wedding.
That might mean helping with last-minute set-up, gathering everyone for photos, welcoming you into the room for dinner, introducing speeches, announcing the cake cutting and first dance, or simply noticing the things that need doing before you even have to ask.
Once you've taken to the dancefloor for your first dance, I'll quietly slip away and leave you to party into the night.
As an addition to your celebrant package: £300.
If you're looking for on-the-day coordination without booking the ceremony, this service is also available separately from £650 within a 25-mile radius, with additional travel costs where applicable.

Where won’t I go? My most common locations are Newcastle, Northumberland, the Scottish Borders, Cumbria and the Lake District and the Pennines. My home-radius is 25 miles around Chopwell, but I will go as near or far as your love story takes me!
